Jimmy’ Daily Happenings

Been buried under ;)

Posted by: Jimmy on: Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Wow days really fly by and it’s in a way both exciting and scary!!

It was a long time since I started to blog again and then I seem to have snapped out of that thrill, till last week a friend of mine caught my blog on Google Search and commented on how I was missing from the blogging world. For those who do not know, I used to write blogs for the Youth Group at my Church – Mar Thoma Church, Dubai.

Now to bring up the pace lots of things happened between Dec 2008 and March 2009.

- The best of the lot was my wedding. I got married to Merrily, she hails from a small town called Vennikulam in Kerala, but like me has been bought up here in Dubai. We were informally engaged on the 30th of Dec and since got married on the 15th of Jan. To top it all my brother got married on the 29th of Dec and her sister got married on the 12th of Jan. Yup it was a whole lot of weddings - wonder how our folks got through it all.

- I left to India for the wedding on the 26th of Dec, but jsut before I left to India, I got another bite of the cake. A job – yes a new job which gave me a promotion from my current post and an increase in the benefits which I knew would allow my wife and myself to have a good start on our long life together. I used to work at the Grand Hyatt Hotel as the Asst. Information System Manager, I have been there for about 4 and half years and through it all I have met a lot of wonderful people and a variety of experiences. My new job is as the Information Systems Manager at the Sofitel Dubai Jumeriah Beach Residence. In one of the coming posts I will write about my experiences here at the hotel, which is in its pre-opening stage and about the Jumeirah Beach Residence, the people living in this area and the activities available.

- And I got to bite another piece of that so called cake, which was my apartment. During my tenure with Hyatt, I used to like at Sahari Village, which is the staff quarters for Hyatt in Dubai. It was a nice place and I enjoyed my stay there. And now since I shifted to my new job, I was left with no option but to look for another place to stay. My wife set out on this task and found us a nice place at the Silicon Arch, which is in the Dubai Silicon Oasis – about which I need to wrote another blog ;)

Well I have been buried under a lot of blessings and I am happy and content!!
